It didn’t happen quite as early as we were hoping today, but after a few adjusted plans we finally escaped the hospital with our baby!
I wasn’t even thinking about taking photos, and then some dude that was doing the exact same thing as me showed me up! He was there with his wife and new baby and had the presence of mind to take a photo of the important occasion. So I hastily took this…
…and over-compensated again with an equally hasty selfie when we got downstairs…
This all paved the way to our next challenge… the car seat. Naturally Kris wanted to be in the back seat with Jack, and we spent five minutes trying to get the shoulder straps to the right height. Would you believe that we needed to take them up? It’s true! We finally found something that was too small for Jack!
Kris, upon request, managed to muster this fairly unconvincing smile. I don’t think she had full confidence that I knew what I was doing with that seat. I didn’t, to be fair.
Our stay in the hospital was great, but getting home was so much better!
